1995-2002 Range Rover P38A

Hello there. Rover sat for months at a time over the past two years. Of course, rodents made themselves quite comfortable.Recently replaced fuel pump (used OEM). After traveling fine, days later engine cut when 1. turn signal was on 2. driver's door opened 3. depressing brake 4. turning headlights on 5. no instrument panel display.
My mechanic (British specific shop) said it was the EMC/ECU. We removed ECU/ECM and packed for shipping. Mechanic had someone in SoCal who 'fixes' them. Couldn't raised ECU doctor and other shops I spoke with said they no longer send them out. ECU/ECM being vehicle specific, don't know what to do at this point.
Then my mechanic said the ECU/ECM had nothing to do with symptoms and to check alternator and battery (battery charged and held fine so no dice there.)
I would appreciate some thoughts / direction if possible. Thank you for reading. ps. p38 in Northern Cal.
