Is it worth keeping Range Rover Sport more than 8 years?

Hello everyone,

I've been lurking around this forum for awhile now and I must say this is one informative RRS forum.

I currently own 2007 Range Rover Sport HSE and it has been almost 3 years now. The warranty is getting expired and I was wondering if I should keep this vehicle or trade in and get a new BMW X5.

What do you guys think I should do?

Is it worth keeping RRS for a long time, say more than 7-8 years? Will it have issues on the long run?

Just need some experts opinion here.

Please help me decide /:(

Here is my baby btw. Not sure if I should let this one go...

Somewhere on here there is a "Warrenty Almost Up" checklist. See if you can find it and get some of it taken care of.

I think you know your answer if you are asking RRS owners, on and RRS forum, if you should keep the RRS over a BMW.

Have you had any probelms so far?
If you keep on calling it your baby, I think your stuck with it...unless it falls apart, I plan on owning mine for 10 years or 250,000 miles.
My baby is a 2006 with 125,000 miles on the clock. Last service which included brakes, oil change, alinement ect, wast just under $700. I will likely keep it until the 2011's are available.

****!! You and Umberto are true high milers!!!

OP - I think with that nice setup you've got and if it's running perfectly...keep it for a while longer. The sensation of the LR drive vs. other SUV's so far for me has been incomparable...every time I drive some other SUV, I realize even more how special the RRS is.

I'm not a RRS owner just yet... several more weeks until my special order will arrive at the dealership  , but I have been driving BMW for the past 15 years and before I decided on RRS I tested the X6, X5 and X5M. From the short test drive I can tell you that if you need an 4X4 SUV stay with the RRS. The BMW are fine cars but are not a true 4X4 SUV with off-road capabilities.

Also, you should note that the X5 is being updated and the 2011 model will have new engines and many more updates. If you think that you like the BMW wait for the 2011 model.

Cheers
