Where have you put your inspection sticker if you state requires it to be in the upper middle of the windshield to avoid blocking the sensor in the rear view mirror?

Do you mean the autodim sensor facing forward for sensing daylight? If so just look at the back of the mirror for the sensor and don't block it. As you are in the driver seat looking at the mirror it is usually at the lower right hand corner in the front of the mirror. The only thing that is going to happen if you do block it is that it will dim during the day when someone's high beam DRLs comes up behind you.

The newer mirrors (17+) have all of the sensors and cameras sealed inside of a pod attached to the windshield...however there is a sensor on the mirror itself on the right rear side...so you need to place it to the left of the pod...look through the windshield from the outside and you can clearly see the best place to put it....all "Normal" places require the sticker on the left lower part of the glass so not in the vision area...or at least that's where the People's Republik of NJ and NY require it...

i have the setup you described. The state requires the sticker in the top center of the windshield. Ended up with sticker on passenger side of mirror in the clear patch in the window tint.
