Folks,

My rear number plate (i.e license plate) lights are not working. The bulbs are good and when I removed one the information center recognized it as missing (told me it had failed). It's not clear in the owners manual which fuse it could be and all my other lights seem to be working fine.

Any ideas? Somehow I am not getting voltage to the lights to illuminate them, but somehow the computer can still tell when one is failed (when I pull one out of its socket).

I assume that the number plate lights should be illuminated anytime my headlights are on but no luck.

under the right side of the tailgate near the upper bumper lip, you have the harness which feeds into the tailgate. if all else checks well I would locate the tag light wiring and test for continuity, it is possible you may have a broken or corroded wire.

Got it sorted out. I cleaned up the bulb contacts and all is working fine.

Regular UK size plate is correct for a standard P38, some models (Holland & Holland and possibly others), had the slightly larger 21" x 6" plate fitted.
