i have a 1990 range rover classic. i took out all the interior to get ready for new interior including center console and all hard rubber padding around center transmission hump. my question is this: before taking all this out, i can turn ignition key to turn truck off every time. now, when i want to turn truck off, key will turn and remove and truck still runs? i have to pull coil wire off to stop truck from running. what's going on here and how do i correct it?

please txt or email me the answer as well as posting here!!

need info asap!!

I just saw this today.

The back of the ignition switch is famous for coming off or becoming loose. Take the cowel off the steering column and see if the ignition switch electrical side is properly mounted on the tumbler. I use zip ties to keep mine in place.
