Simple question really. Can anyone advise as to make/model of Cd/Tuner/etc.'s that will fit into the pre soft dash RRC's? Most seem too long and stick out 1/2" or so.

I had some old Pioneer unit in mine. I fed string out through the sides tied to the wiring and then pulled the strings gently while pushing the headunit into place. One thing you need to avoid are units with RCA output plugs on the back cos you won't have the space to attach rcas if you need them.

Probably need more specific wants before anyone can suggest anything:
What do you want? Bluetooth / ipod control / USB / RCA preamp outputs etc etc
Budget?

Yes I know exactly what you mean!!! there's not much room behind there.

The best fitting one i've found (in a 93 model rangie) is an Eclipse cd7000. They're not cheap though; but awesome sound. My dad's a sound engineer and he said it's one of the best he's heard.

I've also found a kenwood 10 inch sub. with instructions included for suitable boxes. By chance this box will bolt in where the origional was, and sounds sooooo good!

On it is a 7 band eq, time alignment, inprinting, and heaps more.
It has 2 rca inputs, sub out, gps in and round plug cd changer in (theoretically it should run the origional cd changer, though I've not tried this yet) siruis, and hd radio. It'll play mp3 and wma off cd/r/rw etc. however not off dvd. It's bit old in terms of connections and stuff, but it sounds soo good.

hope this helps.

I mounted a Premier DEH-P1R in the center console of mine, with a satellite radio. Stealth.

Well I could not solve the problem of space and as I had a hands free kit to put behind it as well I came up with another solution.

Here for your derision is the solution.
