Hi All,

I've done a search on this and can't find a definitive answer.

* My Alpine head unit does not "see" the sub when in the music settings part.
* The sub is not working (surprise!).

Where do I start to find the fault? At the sub?

My local "specialist" said to go to the dealer ......

Any tips gratefully received.

i suggested how to check the sub by checking power to switch on the amp in the sub and also to put a spare speaker on the sound feed

If you play a cd and then put your hand on the casing of the sub you should be able to feel it work.

Thanks JD, I wasn't being clear.

The sub is dead and the head unit does not show it in the music settings menu.

I was just wondering how to check it electrically, and Keith's post explains it perfectly.

I'll be rolled up in the back with my meter at the weekend ....... hoping it is not the amp gone.
