Hello All,
This is my first post to this forum but you will most likely be hearing from me on a regular basis since I do my own work on my truck. It's a 1997 4.6 HSE and here is the problem. I just purchased it and it looks like there my have been a murder in it because there is blood stains all over it and it has never been wrecked. The previous owner would not talk so I am just trying to get it fixed up. The Auto-Dimming Center Rear View Mirror is cracked and has blood all over the crack. I purchased a replacement on eBay that said it was for a 1995 to 2002 Range Rover Rear View Mirror. It came in and of course not only is the mount different, the wiring is different and I don't know how to get the original off of the window. I removed the little egg shaped cover and there is a hole with what looks like a metalic pin in the bottom but I can not figure out how to get the darn thing off the windshield! After i figure out how to get it off the Windshield, next will be figuring out the wiring. FOR GOD SAKES, IT'S A MIRROR!, how many wires does it need!?!!? The original has 3 active wires and the replacement has 4 active wires. The replacement mirror has a 10 pin plug and 7 wire coming from the mirror. Unbelievable! 7 wires connected to a piece of glass. ANYWAY, can someone help me get the original off the Windshield?
Thanks,
