Childs play ya all! My 96 had 300K on it when I pulled the motor and it ran GREAT, just burned a lot of oil.
Mine still runs great, it's just that having got the engine running properly in my other one (with only 130,000 miles), it's made me realise how flat and gutless it is at low revs in comparison. So, at 288,000 the engine is off to V8 Developments next week......

183xxx, '01 4.6HSE. Did the head gaskets a couple of thousand miles ago, more as a preventative, than because of any real need. Marks its territory a little bit but nothing to cause concern. Runs great.

340,000 kms.

I retired it from my wifes daily driver duty last year and I just use it occasionally now as I want to keep it nice.

(Supercharged engine still runs strong BTW)

-97 245000km, very reliable daily driver since -04. Engine overhauled at 200000km, camshaft was bad. (noticed during "routine" maintenance)

455000 kms on my RR p38 Diesel. At 390.000 professional revision of dieselpump, for the rest, except for usual maintainance (accumulator, dynamo, belts, wheelbearings, radiator, several bulbs in dash, viscous fan) no serious problems.
At 350.000 I changed EAS into springs. Painful I must say. There is no problem in repairing the mechanical parts, but when the computers start to break down things start to become scary. But for the rest of it: I wonder why people call the P38 a problemcar. Pretty easy to repair as long as you can steer away from the official dealer's garage.

126,000 miles and every thing appears original under the bonnet, bit of oil mist under front axle and g/box but no drips etc....., despite a hard life before I bought it, Feel like the new owner of "Black Beauty" slowing bringing her back to her former glory:wink:

Phew, for a minute there I thought someone in Europe had beaten my record, but 455,000 kms works out to 283,375 miles and I'm at 289,510 at the moment. So just leading still but got a way to go to catch up with Scotty in the US at 320,000 miles.

I've just done mine. After 287,950 miles it was getting a bit tired but new top hat liners, pistons, rings, big ends, mains, camshaft, cam followers, valves guides and quite a few other bits and she's back to like new.

Glad to hear it, I was reading a thread about your rebuild yesterday. Sadly I have not found anyone local to me that is truly knowledgeable with these, I mention "Range Rover" and their eyes glaze over... lol

I'll be doing all of the work myself and just need to find a decent machine shop.
