2003 HSE, I only have one key/remote.

I tried to move the guts of the remote into a newer body I got on eBay. I didn't separate the battery from the module.

I decided to not move the innards and put it all back together.

All buttons work and I was able to unlock the doors (and re-lock)

HOWEVER,

I put the key in the ignition and turn it. No crank, no start. Everything else works perfectly.

Did I immobilize the truck?

There is a little black plastic looking widget which marries your key to your ignition. It is possible you dropped it or lost it in this exchange gone awry. It fits into the key body with the circuit board and you are screwed if it is missing. It is easy to mistake it for just a piece of filler or something seemingly useless as it is is an odd shape and small. If so you will need a new key from the dealer.

It might also be worth a try to re-synchronize your keys to the vehicle, not sure if that will do anything though? The part I am referring to is located in the key body underneath the arrow (showing how to remove the battery)
