How do I remove the sliding sunshade only?

15120 Views 10 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  jgreene
In reading the RAVE CD, i can't tell if i have to remove the whole headliner as a prerequisite to
removing the sliding sunshade. Only my sunshade fabric is turned loose, so it's all I want to remove.

If someone can write a quick overview of the simplest way to remove this thing that would be
great, I can follow the exact details in the RAVE but if there's an easier way to achieve my goal
please let me know!

Sorry I can't help but I am interested if you find a solution.
Super easy, requires a dry working environment and about 90 minutes for a rookie. Follow the directions in RAVE for removing your glass panel. Once the panel is out of the way, and your hands are super clean, the sunshade will come right out. Save the four sunshade glide clips in a bag and do whatever with your sunshade. I know a few folks that have simply left the sunshade out because they never use it. If you are having your shade recovered just replace your glass panel as in RAVE. The shade has a big zero to do the with sunroof. In other words you can take your time putting it back in.
Interested too since i have the sliding sunshade new rattle

Includes taking out the headliner, no?

It's really not a hard job, but I don't see a way around dropping the headliner.
+1 on the sliding shade only sagging. please elaborate toad. my reading of rave was also that the whole enchilada had to come out...i'm always on the lookout for information between the lines in rave.

That's me - I stop it by shoving a pen in the back between teh headlining and the panen but its really not very 'Range Rover'
I did it without removing the glass or the headliner. Took about 10 minutes. Gave the headliner to a shop and they recovered it for 80 dollars and I popped it back in without an issue. Key is the slide shade is "flexible".

Good luck!
