Hi All just fitted a hot start kit to my 1999 DT. When you start the engine hot is revs at 1500 rpm for 30 seconds then settles back to idle. Just wanted to know from members if this is normal behaviour for this kit?

Its normal for the hot start kit to pick the idle up whilst its conning the EDC ECU, but not normally 1500rpm,has it been accurately checked with Testbook or similar,or are you relying on the tach ?

Yes and it sounds like it is revving like mad, but only for 30 seconds

Sorted it myself.9K resistor fitted in the circuit and not the required 2K. No one else had a faulty kit then!
