"Greetings one and all. I'm a new member of this forum, and would appreciate a bit of advice regarding my 2009 RR Sport. Recently, I noticed that when I start the vehicle, I'll get a message saying "Hood Open" when I know that it is closed. If I open and shut the hood, the message disappears. Any clues? I'm not sure if this is related to my first problem, but, also recently, when I lock the vehicle with my key fob and walk away, the security alarm (honking horn) will start blaring until I disengage it. Does anyone think these two problems are related? Many thanks in advance for your attention and advice.

Your hood warning switch is most likely failing. Easy DIY swap.

Thank you! Any thoughts on why I can't lock the vehicle and walk away without security broach blaring?

Since the bonnet switch is most likely toast I imagin the alarm reads the hood as open and when you walk away with the FOB it triggers the Alarm as a safety feature. My money says when you replace the bonnet switch all will be well.
