All of a sudden when starting my car today she was running at 1200-1500rpm. Shut her down immediately checked quickly 7nder the battery net and noticed some coolant stains around the inlet manifold and low coolant level. She never uses coolant so awful thoughts spring to mind. I’ll refill in a while and do a “sniff”;test for fumes in the expansion tank but flummoxed by the high revs....

High idle at start up is usually a sign of a failing TPS, or the butterfly sticking so not closing off fully and causing the TPS to give the wrong reading. Can't see it being connected with a loss of coolant though.

if possible reset your adaptive values with nano or similar device go from their.
