My RRS'14 (80k miles) has recently begun experiencing high RPMs (2-2.5k) for about 10-15 seconds at ignition (coincided with steady amber Check Engine light). The RPMs will subsequently go down to normal levels with some minor "sputtering" noises. The high RPMs and/or sputtering immediately cease once I put the car into D or R.

Anyone have experience with the issue described above?

Thanks

Boet, if you have a Check Engine Light, you best get it seen to.

Do you have a tool to get the error codes from the car?

Mine did the same thing a few months ago. I took it in and they said it was a some sort of a valve on the rear of the engine designed to make the engine sound more aggressive. I can’t remember the exact name of it, however it was sticking and causing a vacuum leak. They had to remove the super charger and other things to replace it, luckily mine was covered under the CPO warranty. Hope this helps...
