hevac fault and AC not working

Hi

My AC system is not working and checking the fault codes comes up with the normal faults that I have due to disconnection of some of the blend motors and now also displays:

Air Conditioning request circuit short to positive 12 V

I reset the fault, but it came back immediately after starting the engine. The AC clutch cuts in a few seconds and after that it disconnects and does not come on anymore until the engine is restarted after shut down and again only just a few seconds.

Has anyone had this fault and knows how to get rid of it? I hope it does not mean my HEVAC ECU is faulty.

According to RAVE the request and grant signal are direct communication wires between the HEVAC ECU and the Engine management ECU.

Regards

Jos

Hi

After posting I checked connector C506 under the coolant expansion tank. Cleaning the contacts with contact cleaner and applying dielectric grease. This solved the problem and the AC is back in operation which is an absolute must with temperatures of 36 C outside.

Thanks Jos.
Hi Jos, whereabouts in KL can you buy di-electric grease.
Which brand did you use?
Hi

I bought the Di-Electric Grease from the brand CRC at ace hardware, ikano power center for RM 42.90 in a container of 94 grams. I have for a few years so the price tag might be outdated.

Best regards

Jos
Thanks a million. Ikano for me this evening. `)
