I have a ‘06 HSE with a blown head gasket at 180k miles. I’m sourcing a replacement engine and I’m wondering, with the new engine, what I should do to it prior to installation. Are there any old components that I should not reinstall but replace as well? Just thinking of how much easier some of these things would be with the engine on the bench.

The ‘new’ engine has 88k miles.

So, just bump/nudging here:

I'm thinking
1. water pump, thermostat
2. plugs
3. belts and hoses
4. radiator flush

If the 'new' motor has 88k on it, would you replace timing chain or tensioners, etc?
