Anything leaking out of a range rover is bad news... At least the newer ones. Def let us know what you find... you're basically looking for broken driveline parts or large accumulations of fluids, either dripping out or on the ground already...jad42485 said:brad s1 Thanks for your post i will go outside i look under tomorrow first thing since its dark now. i guess im looking for a broken piece or something like that. it always was looking coolant from somewhere in the car i thought it was a seal. and i also think i saw red fluid when i was under the car a few months ago if thats has something to do with anything. thanks
If you turn the car to position before start, it should shoot power to the fuel pump... If you have your head down near the bumper under the gas tank, you should hear a high pitch whine noise, if you don't the pump isn't running = no fuel = no start. Crack open the manual, find the fuse for the fuel pump, replace it! Hopefully its that simple. Also don't spray carb cleaner in there to start it, that's not, "horrible," for a car with aluminum intake parts, but it could back fire and explode the land rovers plastic parts. Its also pretty horrible to spray that stuff at the maf, if you need to use it, pull the intake apart until you get to the throttle body, then spray it in there.jad42485 said:I definitely was not able to tell if the diff or front shaft went but its definitely the old propshaft when i looked under the front. thanks RRphil for telling me to check that. well today when i check the car out i notice that grinding noise i thought it was. it was actually the car cranking and not turning over. the way i had the key in i thought it was turned over and making that noise. that was dumb of me. My friend put a fuel starting spray in the mass air flow sensor and the car turned over and was quiet but didn't stay on long enough for me to try and put it in a gear. Now im thinking its possibly something with the fuel pump that cause the suv to have proper fuel consumption and shut off?? these range rovers are so confusing. Any ideas anyone? currently im searching for a good mechanic until then Im trying to figure it out. Thanks to all
Fuel filter is a great call, I have no idea where it is... Before you dig in you should really download the rav manual... It has step by step instructions for everything having to do with l322 repairs.jad42485 said:Thanks very much I know those things aren't good but i was so desperate that i wanted to see if it was going to turn the engine on which it did because i had no idea what was wrong. I definitely what to check the fuse to see if it needs replace. I want to start with that. The second thing i want to do is check the fuel filter but i have no idea where that is located. If anyone does that will be great. I also im not throwing any codes at all which seems to be weird. I will give a update tomorrow when i change the fuse thanks so much everyone for your answers its extremely helpful to me.
just download it `)jad42485 said:Today I tried change the fuse for the fuel pump and crank the car a few more times and still no start. The car lost so much power it couldn't even try to crank anymore. Tomorrow i will buy the rave Manuel thanks brads 1 good idea because i don't know where the fuel filter or pump is. I also have a mechanic that will come and and try to diagnose a few things Ill let you guys know what happens as soon as hes done Thanks to all for your constant responses and help. I hope its only a fuel pump.
