Hello,

Unfortunately the blower motors on our RRs wear out.
After the RHS blower on my LHD RR threw in the towel, I decided to dissect it.

Verdict:
One of two capacitors shot, but the "whats it called"-part where the graphite/copper brushes contacts the anchor wea almost worn completely down, alon with the brushes themselves.

New motors appear to be approx $400-$500 USD.

However, there might be a cheaper fix.
Most French cars from approx 1993 to 2002 with AC seem to use the same Valeo blower motor as our RRs. Not suprising since Valeo is a major French carparts producer/supplier.
An example of a small selection of models that seems to be relevant are:
Peugeot 306,405,406 and 605. Of cource with various engine options.
Same for Citroens XM, Xantia, Berlingo and so on.
And Renaults

Prices for blowers for these cars can be sourced from €60 (from some German sites) and upwards NEW. Almost 1/8 of the original LR cost...

Here are pictures from some models:

Have any of you tried this route?

Nope - but sounds very interesting - had a Citroën XM years ago - and the blower motor look pretty much the same - let us know what happens...

Money saved can be used for other projects but :shhh: or the Range Rover will demand new parts - probably will anyway.....

There were a few here. My daughter used to live with a three Norwegian nurses (my daugher is an RN - now Med student).

That must explain why we have the magnetic letters "NORGE" on the refrigerator door. :D
