So I cannot control my volume from my headunit or my steering buttons, the up/down of channels works fine and I am able to increase or decrease the level of all other features. Basically, everyhting works EXCEPT Volume.
It worked for a "brief" time and stopped.
Any ideas?

Before you spend any money try disconnecting your battery for a few mins then reconnect it, reenter the code on your radio and see if it's still broken.

Mine has had a fit in the past and I've cured it by doing this.

I dont know if I have the code, gonna have to call the dealer.
I really doubt it's the button, none of the other functions ajusted by turning the dial will be working if it was.

any other thoughts?
I might have to send it out to the "rover Radio" guys and get them to fix it or just replace the head unit?

Does your Nav system still work, or has it gone dead?
That might be the problem. It was for me.

If you had the WSOD, then the Nav is shot!
Leave it unplugged or you'll get the radio volume problem again.
Not to mention the hassle of tearing apart the rear quarter panel.

I had no words on the screen...or does it stand for White Screen On Display Screen?

White Screen Of Death

99/100 times it means your nav is now an anchor.
Aaaa great.

Any place that rebuilds them.

Btw, I appreciate you sharing your information with the rest of us p38 noobs. The more I learn, the more I will be able to answer other noobs questions.

It means you should hope they continue to work intermittently, and not stop altogether. :)

You could try unplutting the harness and plugging it back in a few times...sometimes these rigs are like Nintendos, and just need a good dusting off.
