couple of questions

1. how do you tell if the lifters and rods should be replaced?

2. since I'm doing valve seals should I cut the valves?

3. can I reuse the valve cover bolts?

4. what else should I know about?

ALL new head bolts, yes they stretch.
Quality gasket set
Depending on Km'/mileage then a proper head overall by engineering shop ideal
good tools
worshop manual

doing hydraulic lifters then change rocker shaft, rockers and pushrods
New hydraulic lifters require a special way of starting up and mantaining high rpm for x mins
if you can remove engine as its alot less hassles out the car than in, been there done that
