Hi Rick

Yes I might just do that. Try anything once!
Well guys I have a 2001 disco 2 V8 a 97 p38 dse and a db7 vantage.
I have owned the Disco since 2003 and can honestly say I have had more problems than any other car.
The most recent of them a crankshaft sensor, the car has always been serviced at the main stealer and has now covered 122k.
I gave a great deal of thought to changing to a newer model, but as I have spent so much on the car opted to buy the db7 instead. Hence looking for a great deal from Colin(now I am very short on funds) I thought the disco was thirsty!
From what I have read in this forum, It would seem every time the car has had a problem I could have diagnosed it with the fault mate.
I hate to temp fate but the p38 just keeps on going 202K. The only problem I know of is one key needs programming.
So need to take on more of the problems myself, I always have with older cars!
So Colin do you need a microwave?

Kind Regards

Hi Rick Colin

Looks like I failed with the microwave!
The Vantage is a 2000 V12. Not getting much use at the moment due to the weather, but still looks great in the garage.
Colin I did not mention because it has not been used for some years but I also have a classic LSE, was a good car until the paint started pealing off, so it was replaced with the disco. There's a thought maybe I should revive the old girl.
I digress the key is an original that was working! The light still come one on the fob. I don't know how to sync the key!
I have a new problem with the Disco may be some one can shed some light on.
As I said earlier the car has just had a crankshaft sensor at the main stealer.
But now I cannot select gears 3,2 or 1 Drive is ok but the gear lever wont go into 3.
Does anyone know if this could be associated to the ecu or would it just be a physical problem with the selector or cable.

Kind Regards

Hi Colin

Yes that's the engine and I intend to hang on to it as long as possible.
Thanks for the info, I have been printing off from the forum. Looks like others have already been here.
Are you going to reveal any new kit soon?
Because I really do need a Christmas present!
So I will have to place an order next week.

How's that Santa outfit looking?

Kind Regards

Paul
