GPS DVD Question

Im here in the Philippines and i was told there is no available DVD for my area. Its sad looking at an inoperative GPS system and im thinking i could still use the other functions like the altimeter, compass and off road gps. Now my question is, since the vehicle did not come with any DVD at all, could i insert any OE DVD like USA Canada or any for that matter? Would i be able to get the system to partially work? Id like to know before i go out and buy one. Thanks...

BTW, i know its a far shot but does anyone know of an Asia map that could work for me? Its an 06 RR HSE.
