have a '16 RRS diesel HSE. Question for the group on mileage. Computer seems to be 2.5 to 3mpg more optimistic than my calculations at fill up. I simply divide miles driven as posted on my speedo by gallons bought. Computer usually says 25.5 to 26.5 as the total where my calculation can be any where from 22.5 to 24.5. Thoughts on the discrepancy?

I haven't done the math yet but interested to see what others have found.

I did look at my journey's on my phone and on a recent long trip I did the following:

Average Speed- 75mph
152.7 miles
34.9mpg

Average Speed- 65mph
122.2 miles
32.1mpg

Average Speed- 71mph
139.2 miles
33.4mpg

Average Speed- 40mph
48.2 miles
31.7mpg
This drive was on a windy and hilly road.

I am going to try to remember to do an actual test because it is interesting especially when people say that diesels, SUV's, cars, bicycle tires, sneakers, etc are bad for the environment.

I don’t know why they have never fixed it, but every LR I have ever had (and I’ve had a lot) has been optimistic on the calculated fuel economy. My current SVR is about 13% off.

Thanks to all for the replies. Looks like the calculations are correct. But I guess I need to keep my foot out of the turbo to get mpg numbers like these:geek:
