30 days out of service
If I am correct, 30 days out of service, should be 30 working days out of service. Which means, you have to wait until 1/31/07 before you can pursue with the lemon law. Instead of guessing, I suggest contacting a specialist in your area and pursue it that way. They should be able to tell you if you have a case or not. Good luck. Also, if you think you have a case, stop wasting time with the dealer or LRNA and get a lemon law attorney.
I do not know about California lemon laws, but generally speaking I believe it is 30 total out of service days during the period - for all problems. They do not have to be consecutive days in the shop. In addition, many states' lemon laws also provide that if the same problem occurs a certain number of times, that also triggers the lemon law. Many states are 3 times to repair the problem, but you will have to check the specific state you are in.

Hey Mike,

It might be far fetched...but let me try something here. I have a friend who is the head of parts at our local dealer (also the head of our local Land Rover Club here in Houston), if you can get me the part#, I'll give him a ring and see if he has one available or can get one faster out to you. Worth a shot at any rate.

Not quite sure how they deal with all the warranty issues in terms of payment/issuing PO's to the warehouse...but I can check.

Well: thank you very much for your offer! - but here's the problem. My dealership is telling me that there is no part # for this. Now, just how the hell that could be is absolutely beyond me. It is simply the entire fuel tank/pump assembly that comes on a RRS S/C. My dealership received an entire assembly from a full sized RR S/C - which did no one any good - it's 4" too big. If you think it would be helpful to simply describe the needed assembly to your friend, it's about all you can do, and I would be grateful. I suspect he'd merely end up in contact with the exact same people with whom my dealership has been dealing, and hitting the same roadblocks. I'd be curious on his input, however.

Keep me posted!

That would satisfy me just fine: but they've said that they will not reimburse me in that manner because I own my S/C outright - which I find ridiculous! What the hell is the difference in the principle of monetary compensation simply because I had the means to buy my S/C outright?

rrs: did you receive a $1400 check directly to you, or was it made payable to your loan/lease source?

We have read some stories of incompetent dealers and obtuse LRNA, but yours probably takes the cake so far. The money reimbursement would be nice, but for now make sure the gas tank is still attached to the bottom of the car before backing out of the garage in the morning. If you smell gas, open the garage door well BEFORE starting the engine. And whatever you do, try not to light up that celebratory Cuban near your car for the next few days... :?
