Hello All! I am having a very strong gas smell from the passenger rear of my RRS especially after driving. It is exclusively there near the DMTL/fuel filler neck. I am not receiving any codes at all and my mpg is the same as usual. If the DMTL is bad, would this gas smell be a sign? What about the purge valve? Has anyone replaced either of these components and is there a write up or instructions that would assist in this endeavor? Lastly, could this be a simple gas cap needs changed fix? Like I said, no error codes, but that smell is excessive! As always, any help would be appreciated! Thanks all!

Did you get this resolved. What was your solution as I am having a very similar issue in my 2011 RRS

I had a similar problem with my 2010 RRS that may be your issue. Dealer repaired under extended warranty at 55K miles last year. Strong fuel smell after driving under passenger side rear quarter. Fuel tank seals were brittle and cracked. They had to drop fuel tank and replace seals. Problem solved. I was informed it was a rather common issue with these models. Good luck.

I had this on my 2010 RRS SC a couple of years ago. It also ended up being the fuel tank seal.

Agree with SolarGuy and Jakeley- I have a 2011 RR sport Luxury and I had that weird gas smell for months, but fuel average was normal- turned out to be the same problem, where the filler tube hits the tank their is a plastic seal that deteriorates over time- dropped the tank replaced the seal, $650 at an non dealer euro specialist all in. Should have been a recall when JLR knew the problem!
