Hi all,

Here is another of those issues that left me scra tching my head. The fuel flap actuator randomly releases the door, which randomly opens while I drive, when I start the car, or even when the car is stopped.
I replaced the part, but the problem persists. Fortunately, the fuel flap always opens when I push the steering column button.
Has anyone experienced this and what could be the cause?

Thank you!

Nothing to scratch your.... head about. You either have a weak switch randomly making contact or you have a chafed wire grounding out the solinoid.

On the 95, you cant open the fuel door without the ignition being off. Not sure about earlier models.

On the '88s, you can't open the fuel door without using your hand.

OP... is this a classic or a P38?
