The fuel filter on my 1993 LWB V8 petrol RR is leaking. Looked at RAVE and it says to depressurise the fuel system. Its winter, I have no garage, so .....Is this really necessary? Can I get away with just removing the leaking filter to fit new one? If I do this will system repressurise itself? What do people think?

If it's actually leaking, then it won't hold the pressure anyway.

Loosen the gas cap and you should be ok. When I last changed mine, I "depressurized" the system as per RAVE. I didn't loosen the gas cap to relieve the pressure in the tank. I ended up getting sprayed down with a large amount of fuel when I loosened the fuel filter. No fun.

Thanks for that useful tip! When it stops snowing I shall go out and replace the filter!
