I recently bought a P38 and to my surprise found that the fuel flap button was jammed down. Had a quick search and found how to open it manually from inside the boot.

I took the flap off until I sourced a new button. Changed the button then when I went to put the cap back on it wouldn't clip back in?

The pin that extends to pop it open was in the out position. I can push it back in but it pops straight out. When I try to close the flap the nut just hits the pin.

THere is a nylon hook that fits on the door that catches the pin. THese break easily after a few years or fuel station attendants being a bit rough. THey are available at the dealer and somethimes on eBay. You might try Rimmers.
