Had my '06 RRS in to the dealer just before the warranty runs out. Besides trying to get them to fix the **** knock(very subtle at this point), the front suspension has been dropping 1/2 to 1 inch overnight, then pumps right back up at start-up. Usually happens when I park in the garage.

Dealer states this is normal, that it would drop a half-inch lower than the rear. Is this correct?? I was under the impression that the vehicle would try to remain level even with the power off. I've only noticed it doing this starting about a month ago.

To me that sounds very ABNORMAL. If my rover dropped 1" per night, then it would be on bump stops every 1-2 days. My compressor comes on everytime I start the car overnight, but it seems to only be filling the tank, the vehicle itself does not raise.

Even you and others experience that situation, I dont see an issue with it as long as your compressor is working and keeping the bags filled.

I think geflackt is saying it drops 1/2"-1" and stops there. That's not abnormal. Mine pumps up every morning when its started up, but I've never been anal rentive enough to measure the sag. :D

If you think the compressor is cycling more these days, then you might have a leak in a valve or the bag, and you want that checked out so you don't shorten the compressor life too much.

I believe you are correct. When I get in and out of the vehicle (power off parked in the garage) I would occasionally hear a sudden release/burst of air from either on of the corners. My guess is that the car is leveling itself out. If this drop of yours only started occurring a month ago then logic tells me that there may be a slow leak somewhere in the front air suspension.
