Front-end Pop Noise: wheel turned and rolling over bump

Hi all,

I've noticed a mild sounding "pop" when I have the wheel turned to the left under two conditions: 1. Usually occurs first start up in the morning and simply turning the wheel to the left and backing out of the garage. 2. Sometimes more easily reproduced when I have the wheel turned to the left (in forward gear) and rolling over a bump (like a speed bump).

thoughts?

probably time to replace the front end bushings - search on bushings and/or control arm and you'll see similar stories. good luck
Thanks. Now that you say it, a master tech said back in April they are starting to get worn down (cracking I think he said?). Expensive to replace?
I replaced my front end bushings too, but the problem you have sounds like a weak/leaking front air shock to me. I had the problem when I would come to a stop, then accelerate when turning through a dip or a bump, it made that noise. Turned out the shock was losing pressure over bumps and not reapplying pressure soon enough to keep the tire from slipping. Have someone stand outside and see if that is what yours is doing.

I don't think his issue has anything to do with a leaking strut, when those leak it's obvious and they don't usually make a cracking noise when you're turning the wheel.

Mine made a pop noise too, my whole front suspension aside from the struts is brand new. I found my sway bar end links were slightly under torqued, so when you cut the wheel hard over they made a crack/pop noise... Just tightened them up and the issue is gone, hope it's that simple for you.
