  • Having an issue with my 91 misfiring and fouling plugs when it warms up. I’ve replaced the plugs cap rotor wires o2 sensors and fuel rail temperature sensor. It will misfire once it’s up to temperature and fouls the plugs after 1000 miles or so. I don’t know if the amplifier has been replaced and it has an accel coil on a non factory looking bracket with some wires on it. If anyone has any ideas they’d be much appreciated!

It also surges at idle and sometimes cuts out. I’ve also replaced the idle air valve and fuel pump within the last 10000 miles

Assume its a 3.9 petrol. It may be worth doing a set of simple tests before spending more cash. You may also have a vacuum leak. check all hoses inc the hose from the brake servo etc. 6deg BTDC is apparently ideal. Some ignition components have also been know to be bad straight out of the box. Are you using lucas or OEM equivalent?
