I have removed the floor trim next the door on the passenger side to dry out the floor carpeting (lifted it up and stuck a high speed fan to blow air under the foam insulation). It looks like it had been done before as several of the tabs that hold it down were broken off. I need to dry out the driver side. Is there any tricks to taking off the floor trim without breaking the tabs? I searched, but could not find any tricks to this.

Any help is appreciated.

Those OEM trim tabs were harder to take off than I imagined as well. After several careful attempts, I gave up and chopped the head off. I've since then replaced those tabs with aftermarket ones that's easier to take off.
