Hello out there. Hope everyone is having a great day/evening. I have a question about the fixed guide pulley on a 2008 Full Size Rover Supercharged. I had developed a squeak from somewhere up into the front on a trip back from California and stopped in Utah to have it fixed. They said they put a new idler tensioner pulley on and a new fixed guide pulley. I didn't ask to see the old parts which I should have. However, the squeak is somewhat back and after looking down in there at the pulleys, I see that there is a the slightest bit of walk on the fixed guide pulley and that it is also a ribbed pulley though the ribs of the belt are on the opposite side of said pulley. Should the fixed guide pulley be smooth or are they ribbed though the ribbing of the belt does not run through it ? I'm just thinking with that much flat surface area running up against a ribbed pulley would be causing the squeak again. It's the pulley on the alternator side. Thanks for any info, I do appreciate it `)
