My Rover (new '17) is in the shop for a brake squeal and to get my mobile data working. It's been there two days and no progress other than a couple of software updates. Advisor said they can't reproduce brake squeal (happens every time I'm in the car) and they've never seen the mobile data issue before. Is this par for the course or should I be frustrated?

If I have a subjective issue with the vehicle, I typically go out with the Service Advisor OR video the issue...as for the data issue it has been an issue for many and it looks like you are in SF...I am pretty confident they have seen it before...did it ever work...In the beginning I had an issue and it turned out that I dropped the center armrest too hard and the SIM card would come loose...didn't look like it, but needed to be reseated just slightly...

Good idea on bringing the SA with you - I will try that if they still can't reproduce the squeal.
I haven't ever had the mobile data working. I also thought it unlikely they haven't seen the issue before.
Both to me seem like minor issues so I was surprised when he said they can't figure it out. I can't imagine these cars are much harder to diagnose than others. I just hope they're not dragging their feet. My loaner is a bare bones evoque, so I'm keen to get my car back.

My experience with OEM brake pads is the squeal won’t be fixed no matter how many changes they do. I figured this out after the third set replaced under warranty.

I ended up going with aftermarket ceramic pads which occasionally squeal but much less than OEM. Brake dust is also very minimal. Performance is unchanged. Will change every RR/RRS from day one in the future to these, that’s how good they are.

I use Disc Italia. Others like EBC.
