3 months after buying it, i finally got a chance to really drive the RRS. I only put on 350 miles in 3 months! I got married in the meantime, did some traveling, etc. but i finally got a chance to get acquainted with it over July 4th. Took a 1,200 mile trip with the wife and mother in law.

All went excellent, truck is comfy and got some power (i have a tune too ?<img src="http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif" border="0" alt="" title="" class="inlineimg" />.

Well with the exception of 2 things. First of all, there is a clunk/thud, when letting go off the gas and when reapplying it after coasting. Especially noticable on hilly roads. Almost as if the torque converter is a bit “laggy”. I feel like it engages/disengages a bit rough. Anyone else notice that?

Secondly, and this one is a big surprise and disappointment, the leather is showing quite a bit of wear. Not creasing as you typically see in cars, but the color flaking off. It flaked off some where i rest my elbow, where my wife rests hers, on the door handles where you pull in to close the doors and on the bolster on driver, passenger and rear passanger seats. Exactly where the 3 of us sat on this trip. We were in cotton shorts and swimming trunks the whole time, so definitely not damage from clothing. In fact, there are no scuffs, just simply white spots are showing through where the leather dye seems to have worn/flaked off. Quite shocking and disappointing. Am i the only one?

I don't think that's normal at all. My 2015 with 35k miles has zero flaking on the leather. The door sill and other arm rest has an indent from where I rest my elbows and there's no flaking or worn looking on the leather, just the indent. I clean my seat every 2 months to remove the jean stains as I have the light grey color interior and there's no flaking.

I would take back to the dealer and see what they say. They should replace the worn leather coverings under warranty.

I am with Booyah here. That is definitely not normal at 1500 miles. My 2013 has had only minimal visible wear and certainly no flaking of any dye.
