So is a clear type film better that Opti-Coat to prevent the scratching on the black plastic?

I am getting Opti-Coat put on the entire outside next week and considering covering the front half of the car with XPEL Self Healing Paint Protection Film from the headlights back to front part of the front doors.
Do you have a price quote for getting the XPEL film? I would prefer getting something done to my doors and hood; and like that it's self healing. The video looks impressive

Thanks for posting about this and giving us a heads up. . . :thumb:

Our RRS is in the shop right now getting Xpel'ed from bumper to fenders. I just called them up and they said it would be over $200 just to get the B-pillars done. Since I don't have the truck in front of me, which parts parts of the RRS Trim would I tell him to include on the quote to get covered? A-Pillar, B-Pillar and Rear?

My other question is regarding the Opti Coat you mentioned. I don't have any installers anywhere near me in NJ. Is this a product that really needs to be done by an installer (as it's 'permanent'), or is it simple enough for me to do at home?

Thanks! PS- Love what you did with your RRS.
How much did they quote you for the entire vehicle?

I was just quoted $1630 which includes partial hood, full fender, mirrors, all doors, and full bumper.

double-e-- sounds about right for the area you want to cover with xpel- assuming it is xpel ultimate. opticoat does require full paint correction beore application. it also has to be applied just right by an approved installer. go to their website. I guess you could xpel the black trim but I had it opticoated.
I'm particularly worried about minor door scratches and dings...

Before anyone rips me a new one, I realize the xpel coating won't protect against most door dings but it's a great first barrier.

Love the "self-healing" aspects of it.
