Anyone else notice how easily the exterior black gloss trim scratches and has even already started to fade/haze ?

I never take my RRS through automatic washes, and the black gloss trim (in particular the door pillars) already looks so old and beat up.

Yeah, swirl marks galore. I hand washed mine hoping to avoid them but no luck, super delicate trim.

YES!!! omg i have 323 miles on my car and have taken it thru the local car-wash ONCE. def notice swirl marks on the black plastic pillars.

I have the Santorini Black contrast roof and it is fine. i wish they did the pillars with the same treatment....

I noticed a what appears to be a tiny speck (smaller than pen point) of dirt embedded within the painted trim under the drivers side rear window. almost like a piece of dirt was on the trim before they painted it.

Anyone else have this on their cars?

Wondering if i should have dealer replace that trim piece or just deal with it. I only noticed because i was giving all the black trim a check after reading this thread.
BTW, how does this come off/back on? and does it come pre-painted?

thanks!

I'd just live with it. Remember it's a car, not artwork. I'm not sure a dealer would replace the trim piece for such a small speck. Sometimes they cause more damage while trying to repair an item. My .02

Decided to add all pillars clear bra'd Instead of just the a pillars before the scratching gets excessive...
So is a clear type film better that Opti-Coat to prevent the scratching on the black plastic?

I am getting Opti-Coat put on the entire outside next week and considering covering the front half of the car with XPEL Self Healing Paint Protection Film from the headlights back to front part of the front doors.

Do you have a price quote for getting the XPEL film? I would prefer getting something done to my doors and hood; and like that it's self healing. The video looks impressive
