Hi All!
Can anyone please give me information on a Factory Overdrive kit for our 1971 Range Rover. I considered a turbo but decided to go the overdrive route instead. THANK YOU!

I don't have an answer, but I'm curious about the question. Turbo or Overdrive seems like a strange either/or, as they are fundamentally different things.

May I ask what you're trying to achieve?

You might check out Simmonites, which appears to have "tested" used units for sale at
http://www.simmonites.com/OVERDRIVES.htm or Tim Payne Overdrive Designs that offers new units for Land Rovers at http://www.overdrives.co.uk/landr.htm. The Tim Payne says that it's for the Defender and Discovery so am not clear on whether or not it will fit the older gearboxes. The Fairey units used "in the day" reportedly had oiling problems so finding a used one in good condition would probably be pretty tough. I'm not sure if Toro made one for the Range Rover gearbox.
