I just used my 3rd party extended warranty. Timing chain cover on right side leaked oil into the alternator. Replaced alternator, fixed leak. $5,045 Canadian. I paid $14 of it 🥰

The warranty cost me $3,500 Canadian for 4 yrs/80,000 km. I am head by about $2k now.

Well, got some good news just dropping the RRS off at the dealership for an issue. I told them to "feel free to also check the rest of the vehicle over thoroughly since the CPO warranty expires next month." The SA pulled my info up and says my warranty is actually good until 12/11/23. The dealership I purchased the vehicle from (out of state) told me it expired 11/12/22. Sweet!!! I'll take it! Glad I didn't go through with trading this in a few weeks back. I was also on the verge of buying an extended warranty as well. Thankful to not have to worry about this for another year. :D

check with your car insurance company, guys. someone here got a great deal from I think Geico a couple of years ago.
@totya

That is a Great Idea I hadn't thought of... Geico is darn good Insurance Company...

Thanks to you I'm going to call my USAA Insurance Rep tomorrow and ask her about this. We have Everything thru USAA from our Mortgage, Seperate Rider's for Jewlery and Valuables such as Firearms and Art-Work, Home Owner's Insurance, Full Vehicle Coverage for Rover and Jeeps, etc... If any Insurance Company is going to have an Extended Vehicle Warranty Program it's going to be USAA because they legit care about their members who serve or served and the family's thereof even if comes out to be a likely substantial loss for USAA themselves and knowing the risk beforehand.

If anyone here qualifies for USAA coverage either from their service or being a direct family member of one that served really owes it to themselves and their family to join the "So Called USAA Family..." We had a 30K pound White Oak from our neighbors yard make a direct hit on our house's chimney and back deck while I was at an outta town wedding and the girls were home. Over 150K in damages and USAA didn't even "Blink" as to their cost/responsibility... Our cost, 1K deductible. And USAA had professional Arborers, Roofing Contractors, and Carpenters sent out and tarp-ing up everything the same day of instance all the while issuing funds to have my girls and female German Shepherd stay at any hotel and any kennel of their liking until and even after I was able to get back home to them.

Now that's some good people/insurance right there!

I got mine during my purchase. I have a 2018 with 35k; in service date of 2/2019 (still under factory)

I got the extended which added 7 years + 100k miles (coverage until 135k total) with Veritas. “Platinum Coverage” which is basically bumper to bumper. $100 deductible.

$4285
On paper that IS one heck of a deal for sure and makes total sense! Now "IF" Veritas honors their "Platinum Coverage" Warranty as they claim actually come thru with 100% satisfactory delivery upon legit OEM Parts & Labor... all with no bitching, no schiestering, hemming and hawing in attempts to use Chinese and/or Salvage Yard parts, etc...on any upcoming problems as promised... That is the best warranty coverage, lowest deductible, no hassle warranty going for the Range Rover that I've heard of yet and I would certainly purchase this same warranty next month! I most certainly hope this is true both for your and my sake for sure!

The new CPO warranty sucks. A few years ago they would give you 7/100k. Even then sometimes it was a hit or miss.

Also be wary of any auto nation extended warranty it is not good at all.
I almost was thinking about buying this the premium covers all bumper to bumper 48 months or 48k miles for 12.5k!!!

My car had comprehensive (bumper to bumper) coverage added by the previous owner from Zurich (bought form a JLR dealer), no deductible, $4300 back in 2020 (it's a 2018). Claimed once on it and they didn't give me any hassle, I didn't even have to speak with them. Dealer billed them and they paid within a day. Coverage was for an additional 4 years or up to 75k miles, whatever happens first.

Just picked up 17 RRS with 63k miles and my exstended warrenty cost me $5800 for 4 years or 48k miles. "I'm told" this also covers scheduled maintenance like timing chains and water pumps etc. I do have a $200 deductible

The company is called Meliniem (something like that)

Ask your closest dealer what their relationship is with the company you chose. I spoke to my dealership as carshield sounded like a good thing only to find out they don't cover the full hourly rate and the full price of the parts.

Really? That's crazy. You in the US?

I'll have to give them a ring tomorrow and find out.

What did you do in the end?

Haven't got a warranty the prices were crazy and the price of the vehicle was 56k so I'm a little tied up on the finances so I decided to do a proper pre purchase inspection and do lots of preventative maintenance and save and wait and spend things when it come.

So glad I bought mine when we bought the vehicle directly from the dealership. We got extended till 7 years or 70k miles and I believe it was only $2.5k which was added to the msrp price (I bought during Covid so no ridiculous marksup either).

Yep, had this same issue. The warranty itself is fine, but do NOT take it to the dealer to use it. The warranty company the dealer itself sold will not pay for JLR's insane dealer markups on labor and parts. At least at my local dealer, all parts are marked up by about 120% versus online retail (at other JLR dealers). Just find a specialist that's ASE certified and you trust, you'll be better off.
