I have a 1993 LSE with lots of problems but a new one appeared yesterday. I switched the ignition off, removed the key but the engine continued to run. All warning lights except the charging light went out. Tacho, fuel and temperature gauges went to zero as they should. All electrics such as wipers, windows and heater fan were still operative even though the ignition was switched off. I have a on, off switch for the fuel pump so i switched that off and that killed the engine, charging light went out and all electrics went back to how they should with the ignition off. Ignition switch seems fine, operates on all the settings, starts no problem. I noticed that a new coil has been fitted and the earth has been wired directly to the battery negative. Dont know wether that may have anything to do with it. Any help would be appreciated

Do you have a wiring diagram for your model?

I would have thought it must be the ignition switch or something related, as surely without ignition power the engine ECU wouldn't get any power and so injectors wouldn't open and the engine wouldn't run irrespective of what the coil is doing. I might be wrong but a good look at the wiring diagram should unlock a few clues.
