First, I definitely need to replace the two front airsprings. They're dryrotted, and I can tell they leak slowly bc most times the truck adjusts itself down to the bumpstops overnight, etc. I also notice the compressor cycling while driving down the road, so I'm thinking I need to rebuild it.

However, the issue I had last night/today is quirky and I can't figure it out. I need my crack team of investigators on it. 8)

So after not driving my car for an afternoon, I started it up last night. it had lowered itself down to stops, no big deal as replacing the two fronts are on my short list in the next week or two. I tried to raise it to regular height, and it stuck there for awhile flashing, all the way to the gas station(6 min).
I got into the gas station, turned car off, filled it up, and started it. Then i attempted to raise it to the regular ride height, which it accomplished with no issue. Strange. We went to mall, it held normal height for an hour or so, then we drove back home another 10 minutes with no issues.

This morning, I came out and the rear was normal and the front was down to stops. Why didnt it auto-adjust? I'm an experienced owner but this one has me scratching my head.

When I started it up just now after it went down in front, it wouldnt come up. so, i dropped it to lowest height, and then up to normal. It accomplished it no problem.

Re: Eas Issue this am-only front lowered overnight, not rear?

Sounds just like mine, front dropping overnight, even had the extended flashing light happen twice (not completing the rise to hight) during the 2 weeks I took to diagnose and replace the front spring. replace the springs w/ new G1 rubber and all is well

I had the same issues on my 98 4.6. The front was dropping to the bump stops. I used the jump method to refill the air bags then found a way to stop the auto leveling while the truck is off and parked.

So far so good the front air bags still need to be replaced but I do not walk to my truck anymore and have the fronts on the bumps.
