Hi,
Has anyone researched or imported an early 70's Range Rover into the USA?
I am keen on Importing a 1970 to 73, 2 door manual transmission for a restoration project.

There are some here already, imported by British Leyland before they stopped selling Land Rovers. Two-door Range Rovers were imported to the US, after all. There was one for sale in Portand on craigslist.org a few months ago. Look around, and you'll find one.

Were these LHD? Is there any more info on this? I've never heard mention that BL actually imported some.

On reflection, I remember seeing one when I lived in Toronto, that was the mid-70's.
The first batch where all manual two door no power steering! on the UK spec no A/C.
I think in the states up until 79 are allowed into the states FED exempt.

They weren't officially imported until 1986.
There was a company in California importing them in the 70s and probably a few privately imported.
