So the dealer tells me that for easycare to honor my warranty and fix my DR module, I have to pay for a flush of the DR fluid and a new filter. $600 please.

Anyone ever flush it themselves? They said that 9x out of 10 it fixes the suspension error. Anyone confirm this? Experiences?

No Indy shops want to mess with it.

No direct experience, but after glancing at the shop manual I would not mess with the DR system myself, or let anyone but a dealer or fully equipped independent touch it. It's a nightmare to bleed the system, and specialized tools are required.

Wow that's serious... Wasn't expecting that complex of a procedure. Oh well, stealer it is.

Umberto, do you know if that procedure is a standard maintenance one? Is that fluid supposed to be changed at regular intervals or is meant to be life-time? I'm asking because I think it's pretty crappy of easycare to want to stiff me for the bill on it.

Check your maintenance schedule book.

Anyway, you have an aftermarket third party warranty I'm assuming. As has been said many times on here before, get ready for a fight anytime there is even a little wiggle room on that. Read it carefully to determine what they will and won't pay for. Good luck.

Third party warranty companies are in the business to take your check, invest it for a positive return (hopefully) and never pay for anything. And since they're not getting any interest on that money today, they're even less inclined to give you anything back. :(

To the both of you, thanks!

Umberto, Is there any TSB relating to a suspension fault warning light and simply flushing the Dynamic Response system and changing the filter to get rid of it?

Yup. The TSB is a little more extensive than that and covers a variety of scenarios and troubleshooting for EAS faults in cars equipped with DR... But it sounds like your DR system may be contaminated - which is why it is important to let a professional handle the flushing. Under factory warranty the entire procedure would have been covered. Here is the bulletin, long one.

Yes, exactly what they told me... they also said contamination comes just from repeated use. :( But I talked to the service manager and he will split the cost with me... I'm kind of upset that I tried and tried to show them this problem while I was still under factory warranty and they "could not reproduce"... :x I'm gonna reproduce my foot in their ass.

I know how you feel with the "we couldn't reproduce" excuse!
Stick to your guns mate, they are out to make a profit and unfortunately
that seems to sometimes, with some dealers, outway honest service. 8~

So....

Since I was told by the dealer that impurities in the fluid (which apparently accumulate all by themselves inside the system...?) is the culprit for my suspension fault, I decided to try my own hand before forking over $600+ to the dealer for a full fluid flush...

I took a clean bottle that I had laying around that had a straw as part of the cap. I squeezed all the air out of the bottle to create a vacuum, and I put the end of the straw into the DR fluid resevoir. I siphoned out as much of the fluid as I could. With the resevoir about empty, I filled it with fresh LR ACE/PS fluid that I bought for $21. (yes, I should have bought it from Atlantic British for $16, but whatever I needed it then and there..)

It's been a few days now and ABSOLUTELY NO SUSPENSION WARNINGS! (knock on wood) I used to get them every single time I drove more than a few miles.

Perhaps they were right and the dirty fluid sets this off. Now, there is probably plenty of dirty fluid in the whole circuit of the system, but I guess this fresh fluid in there diluted the impurities further... Either way, I'm happy at the moment. :mrgreen:

2007 Range Rover sport Super charged blew out the DR hose from pump to valve block.
We replaced the hose, used Autologic to bleed system. Needed Tool # 204-591 to finish bleeding the system. Ordered it from SPX. Upon review of the order confirmation, read that the shipping date of said order will not be until the 29th of August 2013, as they are not available at this time.
Anyone know of another supplier for the tool?

Tried a Ford dealer (that's a Ford/Rotunda part #)? I think they use the same tool for some Ford vehicles with active suspensions. Perhaps a local LR dealer can rent you one.

The tool is nothing but a pressure chamber and cap for the reservoir, and a power source for the valves. You could essentially make one. The purpose of it is to push fluid down through the valve block and through the actuators. The valves are simple 12v solenoids, so you can activate them easily, and realistically a gravity bleed will work once the valves are open. Remember that you have more then one bleeder on each actuator.

I have a 2006 RRS and I can't locate the fluid tank. The book shows to the left of the radiator but I don't see it. Does your show a tank next to the radiator?
