Bought my range rover sport in the sunmer. Had my car broken into yesterday. Drivers window was smashed in. Had the window glass replaced by autoglass but now the window doesn't work properly. It goes up and down using the switch but drops and isn't aligned properly. The only way to get the window to shut is to guide the glass from the outside whilst pressing the button.

Autoglass technician says the mechanism is broken, whatever that means.

Does anyone have any experience into what could be broken? How easy it is to fix? And costly this could be?

Thanks guys, this is my first post so I am new to this

I would seriously doubt that anything to do with the regulator was broken when the glass was broken. Either way the glass technician/insurance needs to cover the entire incident, not just the glass replacement.

Thanks for the quick response, very much appreciated.

Does this still apply if I have claimed using the windscreen cover option?

My guess would be yes since they already approved the failed replacement but only your agent can say.
