driveline problems

Hello,

Vehicle: 2001 4.6 HRE RR.

When I press the gas agressively, like when trying to go from a stop into traffic, I sometimes get a loug "TUNK, TUNK, TUNK" type of noise from the driveline somewhere. Where should I look first? What type of problem does this soind like? Seems like it's coming from towards the rear.

It sounds like the chain in your transfer case is slipping over the teeth driving it/the theeth it drives, causing the sound you describe.
