Can a 1988 classic drain a battery?
I have replaced the battery and it still won't start, after two days without charging
My 1998 P38 did the same till I removed the aerial for the remote at the back

Anything can drain a battery if current is being drawn by something while it's left. Connect an ammeter, check the draw with the car switched off and locked and see what is being drawn from the battery.

I don't have an ammeter
Does a 1988 car have an on-board computer that would drain the battery?

nope, only engine ecu. something is being left on, a stuck relay or bad alternator diodes.
recharge the battery, disconnect alternator and let it sit, see what happens. something some guys have tried is disconnecting the battery, wiring a test light between the disconnected terminal and battery. then pull one fuse at at time watching the light go out when the suspected circuit shuts down.
