I ask this question because my pass. side actuator has been making a buzzing sound for the last year...The doors still lock, but it's just noisey when unlocking...So today I tore out the actuator and disassembled...What I found were some broken bits(gear pin and some other little plastic things)...So now I know what the problem is, going back to my original question, can I use the guts from drivers side spare and swap them into passenger casing...Or, could I just use whole drivers side unit altogether...Once i tore into actuator, it's pretty easy looking to clean/assemble...I'm use to working with R/C trucks, so they are basically the same(plastic and gears and motors)...Any help would be appreciated...

Well, I did a little investigating and found out that these actuators ARE year/side specific, which can confuse folks if they are not aware of this...95-99/00-02 are different units and have completely different part numbers...What I need is 00-02 part# FQJ103280 RH side...And to answer my own question, no, these unit cannot swap out parts from left to right...In my case, the actual casing itself was broken, so I need the whole unit...I just thought I'd share this info, because for someone looking to find a used actuator, most sellers i found out, just label item "Will fit P38 95-02" but this is not the case...There are specific actuators that fit specific year models...So, I'm going to have to bite the bullet on this one and just buy new..Cheapest I found was $206.00...This parts average between $200-$260...Not cheap...At the moment I'm trying to find a used one, but as I stated, one needs to be sure they are getting the right one...I thought I'd just share this info with you guys for future reference... :thumb:
