I can never put more than 20 gallons in the tank even when the fuel light is on and it says you have 30 miles to go. Getting around 15 mpg in the Colorado mountains wouldn't I have another 105 miles togo before the tank is empty? I have heard of some American Car Brands that lie about the size of their gas tanks but Land Rover?

you don't say which year you have, but my '05 has a 100 liter tank which is 26.42 gal, and the most i've filled is a little less than 26 with 0 miles showing to empty on the dash. so for my '05, it's pretty accurate.

perhaps your gauge isn't properly calibrated, or being in the mountains has something to do with it.

I have an 06 HSE and I have always figured 28 gallons since I have once got 26+ gallons in mine. Someone has got to have the specs!
The fuel tank "should" hold 27.6 U.S. gals or 104.5 liters. The "low fuel" indicator "should" illuminate with approximately 2.5 to 3.0 U.S. gals remaining. That being said you "should" be able to put about 25 gals. in at that point. ibis1 ;)

I'll ask the dealership if it might me glitch with the new display on Monday. When it gets in low in gas the miles left number jumps around quite a bit.

Went 311 miles going up and down the Continental Divide to use one tank of gas with 30 miles left but only took 20 gallons. The math isn't working here.

I think I filled up more than 27 gallons on my 06 RR SC about 2 weeks ago. It was my first time filling up more than 27 gallons, I thought it was weird but didn't really think about it until I saw this post. I will avoid this gas station if everyone tells me that our tank can hold 26.4 gallons.

It is 27+ gallons indeed. What throws people off is if they go to the pump to fill up as soon as the empty tank indicator light comes on, they will be filling up with a 4 gallon head start. Check it out..... On mine, the light usually comes on when it has a mileage range of between 60 and 55 miles and that is approximately 4 gallons given my gas mileage of about 15mpg. After filling up, the mileage range on the computer usually reads between 429 and 433 miles for the full gas tank. At15-16mpg, the full gas tank then is between 27 and 28 gallons. Just an observation....
