My 95 LWB 4.2 won't start. My distributor was suspect because the rotor had a lot of play in it. I pulled it, disassembled and found a couple of springs were disconnected. In the process, I cracked the gear on bottom of shaft. I ordered a new distributor. When I found out it was backordered until late August, I decided to pull the distributor from my '91 RRC parts car to check to see if the gears were the same. Here's where I need help. Both distributors look the same to me with the exception of ignition amplifier. Can I swap those, drop it in, set timing and roll?
